The Ascension of Jesus Christ Light radiates from Jesus as he ascended toward Heaven, after the resurrection and his ministry on earth has ended.The amazed apostles look on. 19th century religious lithograph with oval mat.Antique rectangular picture frame, 11 1/4" x 13 1/4" The frame is solid, carved oak wood, made to house a 10" x 12" picture. Includes the original glass, which has a couple of small "sliver" air bubbles. Air bubbles in sheet glass are an indicator of age; improvements in glass-making had almost completely eliminated the presence of air-bubbles in sheet glass by the 1920s. Old cardboard backing, with some metal tabs added to replace missing nails (to hold the cardboard in place).Modern wire hanger. No date, however, this lithograph was made in the mid 1800s.The frame is somewhat later but still old; early 1900s at the latest, possibly late 1800s. ------ Good Condition.Light frame wear.The glass is very good.The lithograph is in very good condition.
