Description: A print of George Washington Carver by Betsy Graves Reyneau. It appears to have been cut from a book, then carefully sewn into protective plastic over cardboard for protection, an obviously cherished object. I would not open it to see what is on the other side of the print as it stands perfectly as is. This is a rare print of a noted painting in the Smithsonian Institution and the first portrait of a Black man in a national American collection. It was also the only painting Carver ever posed for. About 6 1/2" x 9" overall. Good condition with some soiling and edge wear. Displays really well. An interesting and meaningful piece of history and a superb addition to any collection. I ship every day the post office is open with your item safely packed the way it deserves to be and I always combine shipping. Please see the Civil Rights section and the rest of my store for more museum quality artifacts.
