The church sold its Station Street building in 2018 and moved to the former St James Uniting Church on Riversdale Rd in Box Hill South. A Hong Kong-based developer paid $29.5 million for St Pauls Lutheran Church on Station Street, Box Hill. In a 2018 Leader Community News article Church spokesman David Pietsch said the congregation had outgrown the site and would move to another church in Box Hill South in 2019. While there was a strong attachment to St Pauls, he said the site was no longer suitable with development booming around it. Weve moved beyond sentiment, said Mr Pietsch, the churchs Strategic Property Group chairman. Station St has got so busy and parking was getting more and more difficult. I expect the church will be knocked over but a church is about the people, not the building.
