2 Rare Womens Olympics Moscow Sports 1980 AAU USA Track Field Team Pin NOS New

This one says "USA Womens Track & Field, AAU" and is in the shape of American. Just about 1 inch high. Neat story behind these, these were purchased at an estate sale in the Mid-West and supposedly from one of the USA track coaches that had these made up for the Team and was going to distribute them when they got to Russia. Alas, the USA wound up boycotting the 1980 summer Olympics. Since it never took place, they stored them in a closet and were kept mint fresh in the original plastic bags for almost 4 decades. Really neat piece of Olympic and Political Sports History, Although I have a good amount on Stock, they will go fast and most never made it into the hands of the general Public. I have a few styles, so mix and match and make a neat set. Once they were gone, they are gone for good. Get these before the next Olympics and have a unique story to tell. This is in excellent condition, near mint, mint and still in the original plastic (Took two out to photograph). This is a metal enamel and double pin back and is a good, but not superior quality pin.
