After Ronald Reagan died in 2004 there was some discussion in Congress about putting his likeness on a circulating coin. The Roosevelt dime was viewed as the likely denomination for redesign, but supporters in Congress did not have the votes to overcome the memory of Franklin D. Roosevelt, so nothing came of it. These "tribute dimes" were struck in 2006, and based on the Roosevelt dime design using Reagan's likeness. These rounds contain just over one-tenth of an ounce of .999 fine Silver.
