Description: Edward VIII Commemorative Loving Cup Dimensions are approximately: Cup diameter excluding handles: 8cms (3 1/4" ins) Cup height excluding handles: 8.5cms (3 1/4" ins) Please read condition and view photos... This limited edition Loving Cup was produced by respected English china company Paragon for the coronation of H.M King Edward VIII in 1937. The cup is decorated with royal motifs of flags and royal Armorials back and front and flanked with two lion handles. Encircling the rim is a blue band with gold lettering and the text 'Edward VIII King And Emperor'. Additional text in Latin and English can be read under each handle. See photos for detail... Paragon only produced 500 of these loving cups so a great collectors item. Item is priced according to condition. Generally these cups would fetch prices well over AU$100. As the years pass, these lovely china items become more precious... pieces are damaged, lost or collections are broken up. The good news for collectors is that quality pieces should not only hold their value but increase over time. Condition: A/F (As Found) has multiple fracture to the base. Otherwise in excellent vintage condition commensurate for age and use. Still displays well as damage is mainly contained in the base of the cup and some extending from the base up the side of the lion and unicorn. The fractures do not show on the outside except in the base. So the motifs still look excellent... See photos for more detail. No chips, crazing or discolouration. May have occasional spot/mark/colour slip. Motif and colours all still excellent as are the lion handles. Still a great collectable for those Royal collectors...
