It depicts a woman (Venus) and a cherub (Cupid) inside a cameo. Richards & Hartley was only in operation from 1875 to 1884, so this piece is a true survivor. Excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or unusual wear. Measures 9 1/2" up to the tip of the spout.
