Description: Beautiful, HO scale Athearn Genesis Santa Fe- Bicentennial EMD SD45-2 Diesel Locomotive, in Excellent Overall Condition in Original Box. Road # 5702, Stock # G67089. Loco has an after-market DCC Decoder with Sound Installed. The brand is not indicated (see photos 11-13). So it appears loco will operate using Digital control (DCC) ONLY! Take a look at the photos (enlarged) and see what you think. (Pardon any camera flash reflection.) ALL factory-installed detail parts appear to be present, as loco looks to have been very gently run! As you can see, the body shell is very nice. There's some excess glue on several stanchions, particularly on one end-railing (see 5th photo), so buyer will probably want to clean that up and maybe just re-glue the end-railings' stanchions. Loco was track-tested using analog DC and it did not run. Only the sounds worked great when using DC. So that's why I believe the loco will run only using DCC. The DCC decoder installed must not be the dual-mode type (again, see photos 11-13). Being strictly a DC operator, I could not test using DCC and am therefore selling this model "As Is" of course, with NO returns. So be sure to thoroughly review all the photos as they are considered part of the description. The loco should operate using DCC and the directional headlights will illuminate on both ends (I tested and they work properly). As you can see in last 3 photos, the blackened metal wheels indicate obvious use, and they are also extremely clean! I cleaned all the wheels myself, for optimal electrical pick-up. Loco has what looks like Kadee Knuckle Couplers installed. No paperwork is included. Box is shelf-worn, and it still remains in very good/solid condition. Foam insert & clear plastic cradle & cover are all in excellent shape. Nice "Buy It Now" price offered. Fairly heavy loco, it will be a 3 lb. package to ship.
