Description: This is a brand new Atlas Lathe Crossfeed nut made to fit the older Atlas Craftsman metal lathes with 10" and 12" swing. This part is 3D printed of tough NYLON for reasonable life on these light lathes. The thread is tight to give very little backlash as it wears in over time. Pick up a few to have on hand when it eventually gets loose. The parts are quality 3D prints on a top of the line modern printer of quality materials in either white/black/grey NYLON. Nylon is the best material for gears as it self lubricates and provides some wear resistance vs cheaper materials like ABS or PLA which just wear out or cause wear on the leadscrew with materials with carbon fiber or glass filled material. This part works well and I've used one on my lathe for several months while I waited for a brass version to arrive. As long as you are not HOGGING out large depths of cut it works great, and I havent even put the brass one on yet because this one seems to still be holding up well. I've had a similar Nylon garage door opener gear in my garage door for over 2 years thinking it was a "temporary" fix..ha. Part design is my own made based on others I've seen and my own original brass part. They are tested and tweaked on my own Atlas 12" lathe to ensure good fit and proper size. If your part looks like this then it probably will work.
