Description: FROM COLLECTION: I am selling a small collection of approximately 40 early Japanese albumen photographs I acquired years ago from a collector in Washington D.C. Please see my other listings. The collection included images by Kusakabe Kimbei - Suzuki, Shinichi - Baron Raimund von Stillfried - and possibly others by Ogawa Kazumasa - Usui, Shusaburo. Many are labeled as “Anonymous” because I could not determine the maker. Please ask questions if needed. Thank You DESCRIPTION: Albumen photograph – probably 1870’s to 1880’s. No title. No location given. However, I found a reference to a Kimbei photographs that indicates this is Otaki Ro Make Waterfall near Kobe. Appears like a resort of some kind with seating by the pool below the waterfalls. A later pencil note on the back is “Near Kobe?” and “Stillfried?” Image. Maybe this is by Kimbei? IMAGE SIZE: Image is approximately 8.5 x 11 inches – Mounted on thin buff paper – mount looks skimmed from album page EBAY IMAGES: Taken with flatbed scanner & Digital SLR Camera.
