Description: This is a Bank of England one pound note issued some time between 1940 until shortly after the end of World War II. The note is blue and orange. This color scheme was introduced in 1940 in an effort to combat wartime counterfeiting. Chief Cashier: Kenneth Peppiatt, who served from 1934 to 1949. The note is in fair condition. It has wear and tear, with some tears, and a heavy vertical crease. There are lots of small tears, mainly confined to the border.
