I looked up the significance of black roses and they are not just for mourning but also for elegance and they are perfect for those who appreciate uniqueness and are not afraid to stand out. THE CUPS:The purple silk on the outer cups has a dart up from the underwires to the centre. The black embroidery is tactile, the black stitching is couching down black silk lace with a rough edge. Some of the details are from the roses have a black lace mesh inside, couched down around the outside with tiny black thread. There is also the contrast of the matte black against the purple silk satin with its sheen. The inside of the cups are lined with black silk which also has a dart from the bottom up to the centre. Between these two layers of silk, the inner edge of the cups has a black twisted loop trim which leaves a pretty pattern against the breasts. The under arm section of the cups has a smooth edge with the purple silk folded under and sewn to the black silk lining inside. THE UNDERWIRES, UNDER BAND, WINGS AND BACK:The underwires and the under band, the section in between the cups, and the wings and back are all in a single piece of black silk, lined inside with black silk. The underwires are picked out with black stitching and a black silk ribbon rose is sewn to the top of the section in between the cups. The top and bottom edges of the black silk are smooth, sewn carefully to the inner lining to silk. The back continues up to where the back straps are secured inside the silk. Then from that strap up to the back fastening, black silk is gathered along a wider band of black elastic, inside and out. The bra fastens with a single black hook on one side and a row of three single eyes on black fabric, on the other side. THE STRAPS:The front straps are in a narrow double band of black silk, sewn inside the top of the cups and over the shoulder this loops through a black butterfly clasp, adjusting upwards with a black butterfly slider. The back straps are in flat black elastic ruched around itself with black silk, from the back of the bra up to the black butterfly clasp. The bra is 94% Silk, 6%Lycra with a subtle sheen to it.
