Description: The National Guard is our country's oldest military force, tracing its roots back to the first regiments of the Massachusetts Bay Colony. From those initial roots to the ever-evolving world we live in today, the Enlisted Soldiers and Airmen of the National Guard have proven they are more resilient, relevant and ready than ever before. The National Guard succeeds through the commitment and extraordinary talents of the individual men and women of the National Guard, many who are counted as members of the Enlisted Association of the National Guard of the United States (EANGUS) and included in this Membership Directory. Just as we celebrate the National Guard's history, we are proud of our EANGUS history which started in 1970 when a small group of Soldiers and Airmen met in Deadwood, South Dakota to address several problem areas within their respective states. The group also considered ways to provide enlisted personnel a voice on Capitol Hill and discussed the possibility of creating a national association of enlisted Guardsmen. As a result of those initial meetings and their foresight, tenacity and dedication, EANGUS was formally established in 1972. At that time, twenty-three States signed on as charter members of EANGUS, and the 1st Annual Conference was held in Sioux Falls, South Dakota from 25-29 September 1972. This year, EANGUS celebrates its 50th Anniversary Conference in Albuquerque, New Mexico from 8-11 August 2021. We've come a long way and have chapters in all 54 States, Territories, and the District of Columbia as well as a chapter comprised of those who serve on Title 10 tours for the National Guard Bureau. EANGUS has a rich history which includes our direct support for many significant pieces of legislation over the last fifty years. Many of these accomplishments as well as our challenges and organizational achievements have been shared on the following pages by our seventeen Past Presidents. On behalf he entired asan of all enlisted National Guard members past and present, I would like to extend our appreciation to the Past Presidents for their outstanding leadership and for furthering our mission to "promote the status, welfare and professionalism of the enlisted members of the National Guard." I would also like to recognize the contributions of all the EANGUS Pioneers and Founders, as well as the seven full-time Executive Directors and the National Office staff who have supported our members over the years. We are also extremely grateful to our EANGUS Auxiliary leaders and their members who have supported us "Side by Side" since they were formally organized in 1973. It is an honor to serve as the 18th President and to lead EANGUS as we represent the interests of the enlisted members of the National Guard each and every day. I look forward to our continued progress and success in the future as we continue "Working for America's Best!"
