Using the term "mixtape" here is more an allusion to its feel than its reality, since MORE STREET DREAMS 2 amounts to Fabolous having fun, doing things he couldn't do on a conventional release. In any case, there are some truly banging tracks, particularly when Fab is on his own, on tracks such as the insightful, yet still street-oriented "Now What" and the tangoed-out "Faboloso." To paraphrase one of his own songs, Fab looks at the world from a different perspective, and having his strings cut benefits his original and often oblong rhymes.
