Description: This is a family group of medals spanning both wars. WW1 pair correctly impressed to 58989 PTE E.H. WHITE DEVON.R. (full entitlement). WW2 medals belonging to his son, F W White, (Frederick William White). He has 1939-45 Star, France & Germany Star, War & Defence Medals. The WW2 medals are unnamed as issued but come in a named Air Ministry box with the transmittal slip. The address is 24 Coralie Street Birmingham. This was his mother & fathers house in 1911 census. Ribbons have never been fitted and original packets are present. E.H. White, (Ebenezer Hopwood White), was wounded at some point and transferred to the Labour Corps. He survived the war, dying in 1920 from Laryngeal Tuberculosis a complication from the effects of mustard gas. His wife, Florence Beatrice White received a widows pension from the War Office. He is commemorated by the CWGC on the screen wall in Handsworth Cemetery, Birmingham. I haven't begun to research his son, so do not know if he was a flier or ground crew, someone else can do this! If it goes over £150 it will have to go Special Delivery. Sorry about shaky photo! See my others. I do not accept offers unless the listing allows it. It will not get any cheaper, I would rather keep it in my own collection. I will combine postage if the weight allows. IMPORTANT BIT PLEASE READ: Postage costs are payable by buyer.
