Description: This is a lovely and touching Fine Antique 19th c. European DUTCH OLD MASTER Woman Baby Genre Oil Painting on canvas, by the little-known late 19th century Dutch painter, E.V. Conrady. This piece depicts a young mother in traditional 19th century Dutch dress, who rocks her infant child in her arms. They are seated next to a large fireplace, with a cast iron kettle suspended over the open flames. Various pieces of porcelain, wall ornaments and a model ship can be seen decorating the large room. In the background, a wooden cradle and green bucket can be seen. Signed: "E.V. Conrady" in the lower right corner. There is very little information available on this talented Dutch artist, but perhaps you know more about them or their work? This piece likely dates to the 1880's - 1890's. Approximately 28 1/4 x 37 1/2 inches (including frame.) Actual artwork is approximately 23 1/4 x 32 1/4 inches. Very good condition for age, with some mild scuffing, edge wear and gilding loss to the late 19th century gilded wood frame. This artwork has been professionally re-lined and re-stretched on a more contemporary set of wooden stretcher bars sometime in the past, likely during the 50's - 60's (please see photos.)
