Green Glass Globe Light Fixture Mid Century Modern Vintage Pendant

Description: Bienvenue à UpStaged Vintage This listing includes FREE shipping from France to most UK, US and European addresses This is a wonderful original Mid Century Modern vintage glass pendant ceiling light, complete with its original plastic fixings which hold everything safely in place. It is a spherical glass globe which is coloured bright green on the inside. I bought it together with an orange cased opaline glass light, but this one is not of the same quality, though they both came out of the same house. This is not opaline glass but coloured on the inside, an economy model, it doesn't look like it was painted by an amateur. It certainly has the overall MCM look, and is definitely original to the period but I am selling this one for considerably less than if it was cased green glass. A stunning MCM lighting solution, it will make a statement in any vintage designed room. An ideal gift for anyone with a love of MCM design and it could be the perfect prop for a TV, film or theatre production set in the 1960s or 70s. In GOOD vintage condition, with some points to note. The glass globe is solid enough but there are scuffs and marks in the green paint, most notably a curved scratch into the paintwork on the lower hemisphere. Its not a chip to the glass but is see-through at this point. I am not sure how easy it will be to match the paint to touch it up, but its a consideration. The other place where the green paint has chipped off is hidden by the fixture when it is in place, in fact I guess it was caused by the fixture rubbing. The hole itself also has a slightly jagged edge but the missing paint makes it look worse than it is. Please see ALL photos and read the next paragraph too, please remember it is at least 50 years old, pre-owned and pre-loved. As you can see it is currently in working order but as you will need either a professional electrician or a confident DIYer to fix it in your desired location, it will be up to them to get it working there. It is designed to be used with a European 220/240 volt domestic power circuit, so if you are from a country with 120 volt mains (like USA for example) it might need a simple rewire, check with your fitter.
