Keystone Stereoview President Harding, YNP From National Parks 100 Card Set #35

Description: This is an excellent Stereo card of President Harding at Inspiration Point overlooking Yellowstone Falls in Yellowstone National Park taken during President Warren G. Harding’s 1923 trip to Alaska. It was made by Keystone and is from the rare National Parks 100 card set (the cards are numbered 1 to 100) from about the early 1920’s. This view is titled "President Harding at Artists’ Point, Yellowstone Falls, Wyo." with a Keystone negative number of 18506 and a position number of 35. This card is in excellent to near mint condition and measures 3 1/2" by 7”. The back of the card is printed with information about the subject. President and Mrs. Harding left Washington, D. C. in June 1923 and visited many states including Kansas, Wyoming (Yellowstone National Park), Utah, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Alaska as President Harding delivered 18 speeches and innumerable informal talks and was the first President to visit Alaska. Perhaps due to his hectic schedule, President Harding suffered an apparent Heart Attack during this trip and died on August 23, 1923 in San Francisco, California after less than 2 ½ years in office.
