Description: Lamberton Sterling Hotel Restaurant Embassy Plates King And Queen Set Of 5 RARE The Lamberton Works produced ceramics from 1869 to 1955 – first as Lamberton Works (1869-1892), second as a plant of the Maddock Pottery Company (1893 to 1923), and third as Scammell China Company (1923 to 1955). This china is an earlier piece designed to be used in a hotel restaurant. It has a thick and wide gilt edge with a raised design. The center detail features a stylized King and Queen on a Crowned shield and “Embassy” written in cursive. All the plates are in good used condition with little wear. There are no chips, cracks or crazing on these pieces. A great find for the collector! Each plate weighs 1.5lbs 10.25” diameter x 1” depth
