ANTIQUE EDWARDIAN SWEETS TIN (WILLIAMS'S CHOCOLATES/TOFFEES, LIVERPOOL, UK) For your consideration is a large Edwardian sweets tin from the Bootle district of England's Liverpool for the Williams Chocolates and Toffees firm. The firm was in business from 1874 to 1956 and was known for its unique style of toffees. From the research I mustered, the lithography and style of this tin dates from between 1906-1911, during their heyday, when most every northern English corner shop, large or small, offered Williams's' toffees. The tin itself has certainly seen better days but maintains the charm of the patina of times past. A super addition to any collection of antique advertising. The tin measures 8" high; 7.5" wide; 6" deep.
