LGB Disneyland Railroad Lilly Belle Passenger Car - G Scale

Description: This is a custom built G Scale replica of the Disneyland USA Lilly Belle passenger car. The car was created from a brand new LGB passenger car which was then significantly modified via custom painting, professionally produced graphics and hand made fabricated parts. The car features a detailed interior, curtained windows and robust LGB German made construction. This model is similar to, but is not the LGB 33803 version of the Lilly Belle. It is a custom built model that has additional details not featured on the 33803. These additional details include a hand made drum head on the rear of the car that closely represents the Disneyland original, "Lilly Belle" nameplates on the doors designed to match the actual car's brass plates and color correct paint on the wheel trucks, door knobs and frame trusses. The original new LGB box is included with specially produced graphics added to reflect the model's custom configuration. Also includes the original LGB protective box sleeve. History of the "Lilly Belle": The Lilly Belle is an ornately decorated passenger car on the Disneyland USA Railroad which is often seen attached at the end of one of the passenger trains. It is named after Walt Disney's wife, Lillian Disney, as she was influential in its interior design and decoration. The car was originally the number 106 Grand Canyon car on Walt's Disneyland Railroad which premiered in 1955 on Disneyland's opening day. All six of the original Disneyland passenger cars were retired in 1972. But, the 106 car was retained by Disney and rebuilt as the Lilly Belle. The Lilly Belle continues to operate at Disneyland today and is used as a Presidential Parlor Car for a limited number of special guests.
