Description: MBS 1961 Stratocaster Journeyman Relic Master Built by Austin MacNutt Fiesta Red SN.AM0103 Japan Limited Selection Model Special Price Description New item with small scratches, super special price!Japan limited selection model won by lottery! One of the finest Alder Rose Strats made by master builder Austin McNutt!Canadian-born Austin McNutt, who created this guitar, was born into a family of musicians and grew up surrounded by many acoustic and electric guitars. My father's 1963 CustomColorBlackFenderJaguar matching head is still treasured. Following in his parents' footsteps, he started playing guitar at the age of 10, and soon after began modifying guitars to improve playability and tone. Throughout his teens, he improved his guitar building and repair skills and worked as a repair technician for many bands traveling around his hometown. After graduating from high school in Saskatoon, Austin enrolled in the Guitar Craft Academy in Hollywood to further develop his skills and passion for guitar building. My talent was recognized and I was able to get a position as a lecturer immediately after completing the course. While teaching guitar building for five years, he met Ron Thorn at an inlay seminar and was soon asked to work with ThornGuitars. Austin has been making boutique electric guitars under the Thorn brand for 11 years. From wood selection to processing, CNC operation, fretwork, and final assembly, Austin handles everything, and currently works on guitars at CustomShop, which produces FenderCustomShop's finest products. This model made by Mr. Austin is based on the 1961 Stratocaster that adopted a rose fingerboard.Adopts an offset 2-piece alder body with the adhesive side slid to the 1st string cutaway, carefully selected by professional staff and master builders for Fender CustomShop products. The body finish uses an all-lacquer finish just like the vintage model. The damage caused by dents and the weather check process reproduce even the slightest peeling that looks like natural deterioration over time.Like the body, the neck material is plain maple (grain), the fingerboard is made of high-quality rosewood, and the neck finish is Lacquer, which is the same as the body. Most JourneymanRelic models have a damaged neck that has been heavily peeled off, but this one has a semi-gloss finish that is in relatively good condition. The dents and weather checks are relic-processed around the head and joints. The fingerboard radius is the original 7.25R finish, and the neck grip is the slim neck 60s OvalC seen in the early 60's. It is characterized by a slim shape in the low position that thickens towards the high position, but this one has a slim playing feel from the low position to the high position, perhaps due to the grip curve. The sides of the fingerboard have been treated with rolled edges, creating a grip that doesn't feel pressured when you squeeze it.The 21F spec frets are an upgraded vintage style #45085 size. The fret side has been carefully treated to create a ball edge, and the fingerboard side has been rolled to create a playing feel that is a little different from the regular line.It is a product made by Mr. Austin McNutt, who has experience in custom guitar production and repair. It's a finish that makes you feel that way.The hardware is an aged synchro bridge, and the machine head is equipped with vintage Kluson pegs. Fender is known for its bolt-on structure, which gives it a clear, live sound, but the live sound that goes beyond the line feels like it's on another level, along with the atmosphere and thickness of the sound when it's output from the amplifier.Furthermore, combined with the synergistic effect with the relic finish, the sound is so great that you can fully experience the vibration of the body and neck just by playing one chord. This overwhelming live sound is so comfortable that you can play it for hours without having to output it from an amplifier, and it is truly responsive to playing. The pickups that reproduce that wonderful sound are all hand-wound pickups. The impression is that the amplifier outputs an acoustic atmosphere with richer harmonics than a normal machine-wound one. This model uses a HandWound60sStrat constructed with Alnico 2 form bar wire.By equipping the Alder Rose wood material with a 60s Strat pickup, you can experience the nostalgic sound of 2000's Custom Shop products. Calibration of resistance values etc. is not taken for each position, resulting in a vintage tone with distinct characteristics for each position. With just the right amount of attack, the warm tone produces wonderful sustain when the volume is turned down. The neck and middle are rich in low mids, and the bridge position has a solid sound with no unnecessary lows. The controls use modern wiring from a while ago. It is a simple control of master volume, neck tone, middle & bridge tone, but by adding a tone to the bridge pickup, the tone of each pickup is not far apart, creating a well-balanced sound. It has controls that can be called modern enough.Don't miss out on this Japan Limited Selection Model, which is made with nostalgic specs that you don't see in recent years!
