Edwin Megargee is best known for his portraits of pure bred dogs. He created animal portraits which truly reflected how the animal looked, and in that sense was more of an illustrator that many of his fellow artists. In the tradition of the pure-bred dog portrait, Megargee’s dogs are typically posed to show off how they conform to the standard for the breed. This illustration measures approximately 3" x 5", and has been custom matted in a black "acid free" mat, ready for your 5" x 7" frame. Like any print of this age their is some minor age toning that does not detract from overall print (a small brown dot in front of the dog's front leg). This is a standard size mat that will fit into your standard size frame, no custom framing required.
