Description: Presented is a lovely vintage cloisonne table lamp, dating to the early to mid 20th century. The body of the lamp has been converted from a Chinese lidded ginger jar type vase, which is not uncommon. The vase/lamp is black with colorful cloisonne decoration in the form of various flowers, some like peonies and some more like prunus type flowers albeit in fanciful shades, with branches and lush leaves surrounding. The background has an intricate woven Chinese key type of pattern to it, which is quite attractive. Overall a very nice piece. This piece is in good overall condition. There is one bruise/crush to the enamel on the shoulder of the vase, visible in the tenth photograph, but this would be very hard to notice if the piece were displayed with this side facing a wall, for example. The wooden stand has a chip, but this is insignificant. The wiring is as we found it, so it would likely need to be professionally re-wired. The body of the lamp is about 11 1/8 inches tall to the top of what was once the lid, so not including any of the lamp 'hardware.' The height to the top of the lampshade mount is about 22 inches. The lamp is about 9 inches in diameter. -jm Powered by SixBit's eCommerce Solution
