A lovely copy with gilt page edges on all sides, marbled end papers and a ribbon bookmark. The book was given as a prize at the Girls' Grammar School in Brisbane in 1939. There is a label pasted inside the front cover with the details. A slip of paper is laid in explaining that the School Badge, which would have been stamped on the cover, is absent as the books that year "are substitutes for books ordered from England, and delayed by the restriction of shipping under war conditions." Good condition, wear at corners and spine ends. Foxing on endpapers. See photos. The book will be carefully packaged and shipped in a cardboard book wrapper.
