Description: This tool is designed to assist in verifying that the camshaft and crankshaft gears are properly aligned on any standard deck Pontiac V-8 engine (I am not certain about the low-deck 301 and 265 motors). This may seem like a simple task, but it surprisingly common to find people on social media who have installed their chain/gears one-tooth off. The cost of my tool is rather cheap, compared to the time and cost to correct this issue on a motor that has already been installed! Tool ONLY, nothing else is included. Designed by me, CNC machined by a local company - made in the U.S.A. As shown in the photos, you can use this tool for both 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock cam gear positioning. If you are new at this, then just check one position, remove the tool, rotate the motor one full revolution, then recheck at the other position. This is my 3rd version of this tool, with updates based upon feedback and personal observations from the previous versions. Since the earlier versions I have obtained a few different types of timing sets, and modified the design to accommodate gears with different placement of the markings. I have used both double roller and Morse-type timing sets with this tool, and believe I now have it modified to work with any brand and type. I believe the photos help demonstrate how to use this tool. But I will add detailed instructions on here in the next few days. I thought I would be able to simply update the previous posting I had on here but, alas, I cannot access it. User assumes all liability for the use of the tool.
