This auction is for a Precious Moments porcelain bisque figurine by Enesco. It is a 1990 Members Only Figurine, Item #PM911 entitled ‘One Step at a Time.’ Produced in 1990, Samuel J. Butcher, made in Taiwan. An adorable blonde haired girl with a pale blue long sleeved blouse with floral accented skirt and a large bow in the back. She is holding the hands of a small tow headed boy who is wearing a t-shirt/diapers and learning how to walk. The figurines measure 5 ½” high x 3 ¾” wide x 2 ½” deep and weighs 8 ounces unpackaged. Includes three informational cards and a tag. Precious Moments founding artist Samuel J. Butcher’s artwork has always been inspired by faith, family, and friends. His soulful illustrations of children with teardrop-shaped eyes were first featured on popular greeting cards. When Mr. Butcher saw the first sample of a Precious Moments figurine more than 40 years ago he was awestruck. The sculptor had captured the very essence of Mr. Butcher’s iconic Precious Moments artwork Love One Another and had brought it to life. In that moment, one of this humble artist’s dreams had come true. In 1978, the original 21 Precious Moments figurines were released to worldwide acclaim and a new collecting/gift-giving tradition was born.
