Description: RARE 20th Pebble Beach Concours Orig Poster Handbill 1970 Eldon Dedini 1970 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance handbill-sized poster promoting the 20th annual event, May 30, 1970. This is an unusual piecea smaller, three-color version of the full-color poster, intended as ephemeral advertising. SEE ADDITIONAL PHOTO BELOW. This was the fifth consecutive year that cartoonist Eldon Dedini, of Esquire, New Yorker, and Playboy note, created the artwork for the Concours poster. This image is a character-filled vintage "love bus," filled with friars, converts, and perhaps the unconverted. The 1971 image was inspired by an 1892 photograph of carmaker Ren Panhard out for a drive with his family. Dedini's signature is printed to the right of the image on both posters. Printed on beautifully pebbled, heavy stock and intended for hanging in shop windows and on bulletin boards, telephone poles, and other places where most would not survive. And of course, most didn't. But this one was never hung, and is in gorgeous, absolutely flawless, mint condition. Clean and crisp. Measures approximately 14 7/8" x 10" (38 x 25cm).
