Description: G.D. (Grenville Dean) Wilson (1833-97) was a Connecticut-born composer of some 150 piano works. Shepherd Boy is one of his more popular songs. It is repetitive, but has a certain charm provided it is not played too slowly. The cover illustration does fit the imagery of the song. No copyright date is provided on this sheet music but the song was originally released in 1872. This would be a reprint from likely around 1915. This sheet music is quite rare and very rare with this illustration. Condition - the most prominent issue is the spine is split. Otherwise, typical wear from age and use - small tears, small corner creases and some browning. Large format - 10-1/4" x 13-3/4"
