Description: This is a super rare Confederate button , especially in excavated condition this nice. This is the 23 mm coat size with the most desirable and rare Mitchel and Tyler of Richmond Virginia backmark. The button was manufactured for the Confederatestate of North Carolina during the Civil War. It was worn by North Carolina Confederate officers. The button is in amazing excavated condition with almost full gold gilt, no pushes or dings, and a crisp clear image , clear backmark, and also a perfect straight shank. This button is so sharp that it almost appears non-excavated. There is some ground action on the back and this seems to be the only thing that isnt perfect about this button. On the front you can even read all of the letters of constitution on the scroll. It has been in my collection for over 20 years and was purchased from John Rierson and dug at Ft. Fisher, N.C, the Southern Gibraltar. This was the most significant Confederate coastal Fort and the site of the most decisive battle fought in North Carolina, not falling until the last year of the Civil War in 1865. 100% Guaranteed to be Authentic and as described or your money back. Thanks for looking and please check my other listings. I have other Civil War items, sports cards, and comic books. I am also selling a Very Rare C.S. in shield Confederate Officers Coat Button.
