Description: This is an important RARE Early Arizona Plein Air Landscape Painting, watercolor on paper, depicting the lower Grand Canyon valley and the Colorado River. This work is finely rendered in the plein air Impressionist style and exhibits details that only a master of the watercolor medium could produce. Signed at the lower right edge: "Mrs. W.F. Reed." Unfortunately, I could not find any information on this artist, but perhaps you know more about her or her work? This piece likely dates from the 1890's - 1910's, as evidenced from the original hand carved period wooden frame. Approximately 19 1/2 x 20 inches (including frame.) Actual visible artwork is approximately 17 1/2 x 18 inches. Very good condition for a century of age, with light toning to the paper and mild scuffing and edge wear to the frame (please see photos.) Acquired in Ojai, California. If you like what you see, I encourage you to make an Offer. Please check out my other listings for more wonderful and unique artworks!
