This is one of the last high-end VCRs ever produced and is fully featured with HDMI upscaling so you can watch your old tapes on modern TV systems, a DVD recorder for making DVD copies of your home movies (or you can dub tapes of DVDs as well) and a host of other features for ease-of-use, convenience and reliability. These units are overstock units that were sold as refurbished by Sanyo directly to the film industry and were recovered from a facility that never got around to opening or using them. The main difference from the retail package is that the ones sold at electronics stores had a box with a full-color print and these featured a brown box with the recorded printed on in black. They all work perfectly, and include OEM remote controls, RCA A/V cables, a sealed HDMI cable and the user manual (some are bound professionally, some are re-prints). The refurb boxes have been opened and inspected by me personally to briefly test and verify for quality assurance and all serial numbers are recorded. Please note that this model is only able to record on DVD-R or DVD-RW discs. DVD+R or DVD+RW are not compatible. The minus / plus is important.
