Description: Set of Six Clear Early Flint Glass Ship Cup Plates 1830s Boston and Sandwich Set of six clear cup plates with a ship center, usually thought to be the Constitution (which was being reconditioned in Boston in the 1830s), surrounded by shields and scrolls, with a scallop & point rim. This is Number 610A in Lee and Rose, American Cup Glass Plates, and Number 1418 in Barlow and Kaisar, A Guide to Sandwich Glass. Fine early flint glass from the 1830s. Boston and Sandwich. The cup plates are 3 3/4 inches wide. The set weighs 1 lb 2 oz (shipping weight 2 lbs). Condition: Four are in very good condition with only minor rim nibbles; two havee rim chips as shown.
