Description: A small heavy, cast bronze Buddha that would be used in a small shrine. A heavy cast bronze has been given a dark brown patina and gilding in places. The figure stands on top of a lotus plinth. The figure has good facial features and good folds on the robe. We aren’t sure just how old it is, but the patina, wear, and heavy weight suggest that it’s at least several hundred years old. MEASUREMENTS 3 ½” tall x 1” (2.5 cm) wide x 1” (2.5 cm) deep. Weighs 5.1 oz (140 g) CONDITION There are no breaks, chips, cracks or dents. There is wear to the face and hands to details from being handled over the years. There are both verdigris and a few very small areas of light corrosion on the figure. The figure must have once had gilding because a few traces are still visible. A small figure to place back in a shrine or even just to hold in your hand and feel the age.
