Description: The Sogdiana Pomegranate Tree is known for producing some of the tastiest pomegranates with a very sweet yet complex flavor. Ripening in mid-season, this variety thrives best in warmer climates or very warm microclimates in northern gardens. The fruit features a beautiful orange-red skin with deep red arils that offer a sweet-tart taste with soft seeds. Although not the most productive variety, the exceptional flavor more than compensates, and it requires less thinning of fruit. The Sogdiana Pomegranate tree can reach a mature height of 10-12 feet and typically begins bearing fruit 1-2 years after planting, with a harvest yield of 20+ pounds. Hardy to at least 5º F, it prefers full to half-day sun and well-drained soil, and it blooms from June to July, with fruit ripening in October. NOTE: These are started from cuttings, and NOT tissue culture, plants are shipped in 1 gallon pots and will vary in size from batch to batch, so they may be from 1ft-2ft tall.
