Description: This SONY ICF-A10W is an Analog Quartz Alarm Clock Radio that receives two radio Bands that are broadcast over much of the World, hence the suffix "W" in the Model ID. The AM Band, (aka MW or BC) covers the frequency range of 530 kHz to 1700 kHz. The FM Band covers the frequency range of 88 MHz to 108 mHz. It uses Integrated Circuit Technology to implement its FM Radio reception, hence the ICF- prefix in the Model ID. It was introduced around the year 1986. These radios were produced in six different colors: Black, White, Red, Blue, Pink, and Grey. These radios have their controls labelled in ENGLISH. They have an Alarm Clock function with three ALARM MODE settings on the left side of the radio: OFF, RADIO, AND MELODY. The Alarm is enabled or disabled by the ALARM ON/OFF button on the top of the radio. The light on the clock face is turned on by holding down the small button, on the front left corner of the top of the radio. The Alarm Time is set by rotating the Clock Face using the knurled edges, until the small pink arrow points at the hour and minute for the Alarm to be triggered. The RADIO setting plays the currently tuned Radio Program when the Alarm is triggered.The MELODY setting plays Vivaldi's "Concerto No. 1: Spring" from "The Four Seasons" when the Alarm is triggered. The Radio is turned On and Off by the RADIO ON/OFF Button on top of the Radio. The SLEEP ON/OFF Button on top of the Radio turns the Radio on for an hour, then turns it off. The right side of the Radio has a VOLUME knob to control the loudness of the radio. It has a BAND Selector Switch to choose the FM OR AM Band. It has a TUNING knob to find the desired station on the selected BAND. There are two Slide-Rule Dials on top of the Radio to help with the Tuning. On the left side of the Radio is a Jack for plugging in a 3 VOLT DC Power Supply, NOT INCLUDED! On the Back of the Radio is a Knob for setting the time on the Clock. Pull the Knob while twirling it to set the correct time. On the Back at the bottom is a metal pin for attaching an FM WIRE ANTENNA, NOT INCLUDED. The metal pin on this radio is missing! On the Bottom of the Radio is the Battery Compartment with a Removable Cover. It holds two AA Batteries to power the Radio, and one AA Battery to power the Quartz Clock. There is green corrosion on two of the Battery Contacts. I cleaned the contacts to restore the Clock and Radio functions. It is not visible when the Batteries are installed, and does not prevent the Clock and Radio from working properly.. This radio is missing the "It's a Sony" sticker on the lower left corner of the clock face. Please look for my other listings in my Ebay Store.
