Description: Up for sale is a Very Rare, SIGNED First American Book Club Edition, (BCE), of The Magus by John Fowles. The Author's SECOND Book!! SIGNED Copies of this Title are Scarce and Becoming Increasingly Hard to Find!! Hardcover with its original, illustrated dust jacket. Published by Little, Brown And Company: Boston and Toronto, 1965. Boldly SIGNED on the half-title page by the celebrated author! NOT inscribed to anyone, simply SIGNED by the great John Fowles! A First American Book Club Edition, (BCE). Please remember this is NOT a First Edition/First Printing! This book is essentially an early reprint of the First Edition. Once again, this is NOT the First Edition/First Printing of this title. This rare treasure has some very clearly visible wear, but is still in Highly Desirable, Highly Collectible condition! The wear, however, is considerable and should be carefully examined/considered BEFORE buying. The book appears gently read and has no internal writing, no remainder marks, no missing pages and is NOT Ex-Libris. The binding feels shaky/loose but is still holding tight. All of the pages are present and attached. Some general/shelf wear along with a noticeable lean/slant, creases/scuffing/wear to the spine/corners/boards, marks/wear to the edge/fore pages and creases/marks/wear to the pages, NOT affecting the text! There is also some noticeable space/separation along the top edge of the spine. Please note the wear to the spine/corners/boards, particularly noticeable near/along the edges and on the spine, and the wear that is present on the pages, particularly noticeable on certain pages. All of the wear previously mentioned is very clearly visible and should be carefully examined/considered. The original dust jacket is fully intact but has extensive wear! Some general/shelf wear along with creases, scuffing, marks and rips resulting in some considerable loss of paper. There are also numerous pieces of tape attached to the inside of the dust jacket. If not for the numerous pieces of tape, large portions of the dust jacket would be come apart and/or become fully detached. Please note the wear on the spine, at the corners and near/along the edges. The wear, particularly near/along the edges, is very clearly visible and should be carefully examined/considered. We tend to grade the condition of our books rather harshly and took into consideration any and all wear when determining the value of this rare book. Our VERY LOW asking price is a reflection of that consideration and if this copy was in better condition our asking price would be considerably higher. We purposely and closely photographed what we consider to be the most obvious and egregious wear. Once again, we want to reiterate that the wear to both the book and particularly the dust jacket is considerable and very clearly visible!
