Description: “Night Before Christmas - Profusely Illustrated” hard cover book was published in Chicago, and was made in the USA by M.A. Donohue & Company. It was most likely produced sometime in the early/mid 1900s. Although I’m not sure of its exact age as the book is not dated - research indicates possibly 1910. This whimsical collectible measures approximately 7.5” wide by 9.3/4” tall. There are age and obvious use marks from cover to cover, but in my estimation they only add to the book’s charm. It’s original owner, Viola, certainly enjoyed and treasured her book which was a gift from her friend (I’m assuming) Mary (inscription on front inside cover). The book is filled with many black and white illustrations. The cover features a colorful lithograph of Santa Claus with his sack filled with toys, surrounded by holly, red berries, and gold bells. There are approximately 20 unnumbered pages. The Night Before Christmas is followed by Psalm 90.4. Other tales and poems include; A Visit To Santa Claus's Shop, The Christmas Tree, Over the Snow, Tobogganing, Winter, Christmas In The Woods, Who Is It?, Christmas Morning, and Katy's Christmas Presents. It is in fair condition for its age. There are drawings, writing, pencil and crayon marks throughout the book. The pages are yellowed with age spots, small tears, rough edges, and some pages are dog eared/frayed, as is the binding. However, the book is intact and the images, especially the cover image of St. Nick are clear and strong. Please enlarge and review pictures closely - sold as is. From my personal collection, this heartwarming book has been in my keep for about thirty five years…possibly a bit longer. This wonderful Christmas book comes from an extremely clean, smoke, and pet-free environment. Please note: this listing is for one (1) “Night Before Christmas - Profusely Illustrated” book. USPS Media Mail shipping included.Thank you for your interest in my listing. Before placing a bid or purchasing an item, please be sure to read the following store information: CONDITION: Items listed in my store as “vintage/estate sale collectibles” have been well cared for over the years. However, because these items are vintage/used, unless noted, they may not be in pristine/perfect condition. I rate each item’s condition on a fair to mint scale. Condition is subjective, so please review pictures carefully and feel free to ask questions. RETURNS: All items are sold as is. No returns accepted. BEST OFFER: I don’t list items in my store as “best offer” as I include free shipping on everything I sell. If I were selling this item at a flea market, garage, or tag sale, I would be happy to reduce the price by a few dollars, but unfortunately I have to deal with the middleman - USPS and eBay. Not only do I pay a monthly store subscription fee, additionally eBay takes the total sale price of an item, adds state sales tax to it, and then charges me a transaction fee of approximately 15%. On top of that they charge a “successful transaction fee” of thirty cents. From what’s left I pay for shipping. Long story short, when the dust settles, there’s not much left from the sale. SHIPPING: I offer free shipping to the lower 48 states, and I ship within 2 business days of payment - sometimes quicker if possible. I do not ship to P.O. Boxes. Please provide a physical address when placing your order. Because I offer free shipping, I do not entertain “Best Offers”. Although I mostly ship via USPS mail, I reserve the right to use whatever shipping company is most economical/logical for the item being shipped. Although I do my best to ensure packages arrive to my customers as quickly as possible, please understand that certain factors beyond my control may extend shipping time: weather, high volume/holiday postal traffic, and the deliberate actions of shipping companies such as shipping slow downs. INTERNATIONAL SALES: For shipping outside of the continental USA; I only use eBay's Global Shipping Program. Items bound for an international address are shipped to an eBay distribution center in Kentucky (KY), and then sent to its global destination. International customers are responsible for all duties and taxes. Please proceed to check out in order to calculate costs for shipping the item to your country. Messages regarding eBay's Global Shipping Program must be directed at eBay exclusively. DAMAGE: In the unlikely event an item is damaged in transit, please save the item, box, all shipping materials, and contact me via eBay email as soon as possible. I will require detailed pictures of the item, box, shipping materials, and mailing label before a claim can be filed/settled. Please do not discard the damaged item, box or packing materials as the postal carrier may require it as proof of damage. As soon as the claim is settled you will be notified that it is okay to discard the damaged item. In some instances I may ask that the damaged item be returned to me before a refund can be issued. Sorry, but no refund will be issued for the damaged item if you do not follow these instructions. RECYCLING: As much as possible, I do my best to use recycled shipping materials. Although my packages may not look “pretty”, everything I use to ship items to my customers is sturdy and clean. After you are finished with the packaging please consider recycling as well. FEEDBACK: Unfortunately most people do not post feedback. Please note that I am always happy to leave feedback when feedback is received. Thanks again for stopping by!
