Description: Very good collectible antique copy of “The People of the Book: From the Creation to the Death of Moses,” a brief history for religious schools by Rev. Maurice H. Harris, published in 1890. I’ve seen a fair number of later editions of this book from the 1920s-30s sell on eBay, but haven’t seen many this old or in such good shape. This book is in very good condition, with minimal shelf wear to the outside and little to no aging or wear to the pages inside. This includes the fold-out “Map of the Ancient World as Known to the Hebrews,” which is in remarkably good condition with no noted cracks at the folds. It does have a donation tag on the inside front cover, noting that the book was presented to the Gardner A. Sage Library in 1892. There’s a later “discard” stamp on the same page. The gilded lettering and gold page ends, and the simple embossed pattern on the green hardbound boards, give the book a subtly elegant appearance. Please look closely at all photos to best judge condition for yourself, and let me know if you have any questions. Lastly, dimensions of the book are about 7” x 5.25” x .75”. Thanks for looking!
