Description: The Yardbirds Greatest Hits is the first compilation album of songs recorded by the Yardbirds. It was released in the United States in March 1967 by Epic Records and included all six of the Yardbirds' American A-side singles up to that time, plus three B-sides and the live "Smokestack Lightning" from Having A Rave Up and Five Live Yardbirds. The album was the group's highest charting LP record in the US, peaking at number 28 on the Billboard 200 album chart.[2] Despite the modest peak, it ranked number 73 on the magazine's year-end "Top LP's – 1967" chart because of its longevity. AllMusic critic Bruce Eder gave the album four and a half out of five stars, who comments "the whole platter summed up, just about as neatly as it was possible to do across just ten songs, what made the Yardbirds a great band. The album for bid is a 1967 release by Epic Records, and was manufactured at Columbia Records Pittman pressing facility. It consists of 10 tracks with a runtime of 30+ minutes. The cover has seem moderate to heavy wear along the edges, corners and covers. The back cover looks best, but not great. The best that can be said about the cover is, that, it protected the contents (recording). The paper inner sleeve is original but is past its lifespan and I have replaced it with a new heavy paper sleeve. The recording has been cleaned, tested and recorded using Audacity. All tracks on the album are free of skips. There is mild back ground noise that consists of random clicks. On testing, I detected multiple "clicks" on Side 2, tracks 1 and 3, and a single "click" on track 5, but they did not interfere with the music. The record surfaces show mild to moderate wear, but no significant wear such as scratches or scuffs that were detectable to the touch. Of interest, I ran the recording file through Audacity's click removal effect tool and got a very good result. This is not a great album overall and is reflected in the price, but it is a very acceptable recording until something better comes along.I always clean, listen and test every record I list on EBAY.
