Description: Two early 1900s novels on which silent movies were based.First is THE COVERED WAGON by Emerson Hough (copyright 1922). This was a major silent film in 1923 starring J. Warren Kerrigan, Lois Wilson, Alan Hale and Ernest Torrence. Typical old book from this period, actually in pretty good condition, worn corners, foxing, etc. This epic western set the bar for all big budget westerns that followed. The next is HIS HOUR by the infamous Elinor Glyn (copyright 1910) popular for sex themed books during this period and for creating "It" (remember the Clara Bow movie?) This was made into a movie in 1924 starring John Gilbert and Aileen Pringle. Gilbert is a Russian nobleman and Pringle is the object of his desires. Same with this one - pretty good condition for its age, foxing, and outside cover is actually in good condition.
