Description: This is a rare and authentic US Civil War Model 1840 Cavalry Sword Saber with a scabbard. Completely unmarked, likely German manufactured. The grip and pommel are tight. The grip leather is is complete. The twisted wire wrap is complete. The blade is straight, with a Nick and age spots scattered. The scabbard is solid with a couple dents/dings, lead seam, possibly chromed or nickeled. Length of the blade is 36 1/4" (1 1/4" wide and 3/8" thick), the sword is 41 11/16", and in the scabbard it is 42 7/8". Check out my other Items from war items to Vintage Toys, Models and Die Cast.
