Description: This is a small antique general story barrel from the 1800s. It is bound with wood hoops that make it truly unique - I never have used "Rare" in a listing but this tempted me. The DeZeeuw & Van Raalt Shipping Company marking is clear and readable. It is marked "Registered Flag Brand" "Vlaardingen, Holland" "Superior" with a nice flag/world/barrel/net logo. There are pieces of a tag nailed to the cap but it is unreadable. The only information that I could find is that this was a shipping company from Holland and they had some fishing vessels along with a freight ships. No idea what was shipped in it but it could have been used for a number of things.
