Description: For the history and photography buff. Vintage amateur 1950s Kodachrome 35mm Slide of the C&O Canal - Chesapeake and Ohio Canal in Georgetown, Washington, D.C., which replaced the Potomac Canal. Enjoying a flourishing trade for over a hundred years, this famous old man-made waterway was abandoned as a freight carrier in the early 1920’s after severe floods badly damaged it. The canal is now maintained as the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal National Historical Park, with a trail that follows the old towpath. Size: 35mm General Disclaimer/Condition: All slides are in vintage/preowned condition and sold AS IS. There may be light wear, scratches, dust, debris, and general imperfections, but slide is in otherwise good used vintage condition.
