Description: This is a fun peek into the kitchens of typical American households in the early 1970s. The 1973 edition of Better Homes and Gardens New Cook Book was a best seller, and reading it now gives a pretty accurate picture of what Mom cooked back then. In the early 1970s, most families still ate most dinners at home, and yes, Mom was likely the chef, perhaps with (a lot) of help from the daughters in the house, as was the case for me. As noted on page 2, this cookbook includes more than 1500 triple tested recipes, 182 new kitchen tested cooking tips, new (at the time) methods and techniques, 20 alphabetically tabbed chapter dividers, new entertaining ideas, more step-by-step pictures, meal planning guide and menus, rugged, new wipe-clean cover, ring-bound book lies flat and allows you to add pre-punched pages each month from Better Homes and Gardens magazine. The book was used as intended, not abused. No missing or torn pages, no writing noted. Light marks and staining as shown in photos, minor cover corner wear. I have not tried to clean the cover. FROM A NONSMOKING HOME, no smoke or mildew odors!
