Description: Art Deco Asymmetrical Blazer Size Small - Approximately a modern size 2 - 4 Shown displayed on my size small dress form and its a good fit This 1930’s - 1940’s era vintage jacket is a rich cranberry shade in classic gabardine suiting fabric. It’s an incredible piece - most likely part of a two piece skirt suit that would have been a wear to work piece for a ww2 era lady in the workforce. The silhouette is classic 40s - There’s shoulder pads, a nipped in waist, and it hits at the hip. It’s long sleeved, with a rounded babydoll style collar, and unique single breasted crossover detail, with textured buttons going up the shoulder. There are pocket flaps on the hips, which are non functional. Inside, this piece is fully lined with an acetate or rayon type material. What makes this special: The neckline can be worn either buttoned all the way up, or left buttoned only on the bottom 4, giving it a fold over effect at the neck. Outfit details: I have styled this piece with a Ralph Lauren Y2K era high neck crochet turtleneck blouse and vintage 50s era plaid wool skirt - both are available in other listings in my shop. Tags: Back of Neck - Retailer / Brand: “Frank & Seder Pittsburgh” - Ribbon label with classic art deco style letteringAbout the Brand: Department store based out of PA that had locations in NYC, Detroit in Philadelphia; founded in the early 1900s, closing in the 1950s. Side Seam: “National Recovery Board - Coat and Suit Industry” Historical Significance: This label was used from 1936-1953 in Union Made garments. Condition: A few issues to note: There’s some stitching that has pulled in the center back of the lining, and a small hole below that in the lining only, which is about 1”, and a small area below that has a run in the fabric. None of these interior flaws are visible when being worn. This piece has been in storage and had dry cleaned tags attached when I acquired it, but I will leave further cleaning to the new owner. It is a good candidate for dry cleaning, as it does have some dust from storage. Measurements: please compare to your best fitting items at home to ensure a good fit!
