Description: Vintage 48 Star American Flag 9’x 5’ Linen Sewn WWII Era Fallen Soldier Memorial. This flag was sent to a family to honor their fallen soldier. It was flown over the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific in Hawaii during the services that were held. Overall, the flag is in excellent condition, and has been stored since it came home. There is some transfer marking from the stars on the white stripes. See photos. This may wash out, but I am not washing this flag. Based on the size and the grommets, this could be a casket flag to be draped over the casket. The grommets are somewhat small, and may not be best for an outdoor flying flag for extended periods. Has the original box and papers that were sent. The box appears to have a manufacture date code of 8-47. This is a piece of American history.
