What makes these handcuffs unique is the secure, restricted-access locking mechanism located at the bottom of each cuff, rather than on the side (as is typical for most standard-design handcuffs). Access to the locking mechanism is concealed when the chain is straight/tight and the handcuffs are attached to the subject. This makes a subjects’s task of picking the lock and breaking free (even with the keys in hand), more difficult because the chain has to be loose to the point where the access hole is uncovered in order for the keys to be inserted. WARNING: These handcuffs are not a toy. DO NOT lose the 2 keys supplied with this item, since the keys are non-standard and cannot be routinely replaced! These are solid, heavy, nickel-plated handcuffs with a nice finish. They are in immaculate aesthetic and working condition. These handcuffs open 6.5 inches to 8.5 inches.
