Description: Lovely vintage midcentury hand-decorated turquoise blue glass jar with lid. I'm not sure if it's meant to be a candy jar or some sort of vanity/ dresser jar. It still has the original manufacturer's stickers on the bottom, "Ardalt" and "made in Italy." There is heavy gold enameling and a hand painted flower decoration on the lid with a pointed spiral finial, and the jar itself has thin gold trim and a gold foot. It is very Bohemian in style. This jar measures 6 3/4" tall to the top of the finial when the lid is on (2 1/4" tall without the lid), and 4" in diameter The glass is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks; the gold has some scuffing and wear all over, but not enough to detract from its beauty. A very elegant and unusual piece!
