Description: I don’t know much about this bag. From what I learned from collectors on forums it is probably Southern Cheyenne, age unknown but probably early to mid 20th century. One collector suggested it could be as new as the 70s. In my experience handling old leather, I would think it’s older but do not know. Made of leather on the top potion and fringes, the bottom portion is buckskin. The leather portion is not of hand tanned leather. I was told it was’glove leather’. I am unsure about the buckskin and am only repeating what I have been told. There is some staining on the bag. It is hard to see in the pictures but it almost looks like blood. There is also a spot in the stitching that is coming undone that is detailed in the pictures. Please use the pictures as the description. I cannot guarantee tribal affiliation or any definitive age attribution. I will answer questions as best I can and will provide more pictures if necessary.
